DEAN GUILIOTIS , PRODUCER/WR

A native of New Haven, Connecticut, Dean grew up in the Almaden Valley suburb of San Jose, California. After graduating from prestigious Archbishop Mitty High School (and earning the award for Outstanding Male Student in his class), he moved to Los Angeles and graduated Cum Laude from UCLA’s School of Motion Pictures and Television.

Dean grew up with the dream of being a filmmaker and a football player, and is now living that dream. He has played football since the age of 9, and since graduating from college has written, produced and directed over 200 short subjects and live shows. He has edited over 300 shows, in addition to designing titles and visual effects for programs featured on The History Channel, Discovery Channel and Showtime Networks.

Dean discovered minor league football one night in 1997 when the documentary Football America was broadcast on TNT. He's now in his 5th season at the semi-pro level, and has collected an impressive list of injuries including a concussion, bruised ribs, a torn achilles tendon, dislocated elbow and a torn hamstring. Dean graciously allows the younger, faster players on the Long Beach Lions to play wide receiver while he focuses on his role as Special Teams Captain.

The Hoplite Pictures crew began photography on The Football Documentary in January 2005, and to date have recorded hundreds of hours of footage. Dean is grateful for the cooperation of players and coaches from around the California Football Association and the Southwest Football League that makes this unique project possible.
