LONG BEACH, CA: Minor League Football history is made, and The Football Documentary is there. In another thrilling game, the Long Beach Lions upset the undefeated Southern California Steelers 17-14 to win the LCFL West Championship (photos). Eye in the sky Jenny Gomez was there along with stalwarts Jose Alfonzo, John Hughes, veteran shooter Jim Gordon, first-timer James Vasquez and still photographer Isabelle Ruen. The Lions move on to play the Southwest Football League champion San Diego Thunder.

LYNWOOD, CA: Just when you think it can't get more exciting or unpredictable, the Lions defy the odds once again... barely. In a game that was in question up to the very last second, they edge the favored Inglewood Blackhawks 21-15, breaking a 4 game losing streak to that team. The contest saw some controversial officiating, particularly on the last play, that will be remembered for quite some time. Videographers John Hughes, Jose Alfonzo Jenny Gomez and Kirk Jackson aren't likely to forget this one, as they were swarmed by players after the game who sought to view an instant replay. The Lions now go on to the CFA Championship game against the undefeated Southern California Steelers.

OXNARD, CA: In the most thrilling game of the CFA season, the Lions overcome a 20-0 deficit and their own internal fighting to defeat the West Coast Sharks 28-27. TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA: The Lions make the long trip inland to face the Yucca Valley Spartans, recording a 42-0. Videographer Jose Alfonzo becomes an unwilling part of the documentary when he is pushed by a referee and gets into a scuffle. Frank Thomas, John Hughes, Kirk Jackson and Jose Alfonzo are on camera to shoot what starts out as a close game, 0-0 at halftime. Eventually the Lions avoid getting snakebit and pull away for a 23-0 win.

ACTON, CA: The crew traveled with the Lions to the cold desert for a contest against the Antelope Valley Dirt Devils. John Hughes, Jimmy Alioto, and Jose Alfonzo braved the elements to record the Lions' 43-6 victory.

LONG BEACH, CA: In the most thrilling game of the season, the Lions defeated the Southern California Smash 24-21, with John Hughes and Jenny Gomez on camera. The contest was marked by hard hitting and some unusually dirty play, with one competitor for the Smash being ejected for stomping on an opposing player. At least one player had to leave the game with help from emergency medical services.

LONG BEACH, CA: The Lions played their regular season home opener vs. the Bakersfield Panthers and came away with a 41-6 win. Ryan Brenan, Jenny Gomez and John Hughes were on camera, with Co-Producer Jennifer Walker working double duty as Production Manager and team trainer. This game also marked the first appearance of the helmet cam installed on Player/Producer Dean Guiliotis. The rig didn't fare well and will need to be repaired before being used again, but the shots acquired were worth the sacrifice.

LONG BEACH, CA: Playing for the first time this season on their home field, the Lions defeated the L.A. Scorpions 48-6, with Kirk Jackson doing a superb job on camera. Immediately afterward Frank Thomas and John Hughes recorded the Inglewood Blackhawks' 13-2 defeat to the San Diego Thunder. Interviews with coach Tony Reid and, in an interesting twist, former Lions players Reggie Ballard (RB) and Rick Anaya (LB) who have joined the Blackhawks for the regular season.
